Fun Theme Parks around Italy

Italy Kids' Travel Guide-Italy theme parks

Italy is not only about cultural, historical, and natural attractions, you’ll also find a good selection of theme parks in Italy for those days when you just want to have a giggle with the kids.

Keep in mind that it can get pretty hot in Italy during the summer months; if you have to stand in long lines it is easy for little ones to get dehydrated and sunburned.  Make sure everyone drinks plenty of water during the day … And don’t forget the sunscreen!  A hat is also recommended.

Some of great theme parks in Italy include:

Gardaland

Situated between Peschiera del Garda and Lazise, on the shores of Italy’s stunning Lake Garda, Gardaland is often said to be amongst the top ten theme parks in all of Europe.

Open since 1975, Gardaland has something for the whole family to enjoy.  There are more than 30 cool rides that are suitable for younger visitors, including fun water rides and some that operate in the dark.  Older kids, teenagers, and adults can also get their thrills on the wide assortment of roller coasters and other adrenalin-fuelled rides.

There is a good choice of places to eat and drink and plenty of opportunities to pick up a few mementoes from your fun day out.

Located in Tuscany, Il Cavallino Matto offers a range of attractions and rides, most of which are suitable for the whole family.  Close to the sea, it started life as a fun playground, with rides and shows being added later on.  Did you know that the name means Crazy Little Horse when translated into English?!

Your kids can have fun on the Disney-inspired Safari Adventures as they ride past mechanical animals on a voyage of discovery.  Another favourite is the Movie Stars Theatre with its entertaining live performances by acrobats, musicians, and circus performers.  With good dining and shopping options, it’s a great day out when in Tuscany.

Mirabilandia

Another recommended Theme park in Italy is located near Ravenna, Mirabilandia. It is not only home to an enticing variety of land-based attractions, but it also features a large water park.  It offers something for every age group, with a variety of children’s favourites mixed with thrilling rides for the adults.  Your kids are sure to love the likes of Fantasyland and Monosaurus, as well as the calmer La Cassa Matta and Leprotto Express.

With chutes, slides, pools, and more, the water park is an ideal place to cool down, have fun, and feel refreshed on a hot Italian summer’s day.
