ABOUT US – FlyingKids
I’m sure you would agree that traveling with kids can be fun—but certainly challenging and frustrating at times …
That’s what led us to establish FlyingKids!
Want your family travels to be more fun and enriching?
As regular readers know, my parents live in Spain and I’m always looking for new ideas to entertain and educate my 7-year-old son with a Spanish theme. When I was contacted by FlyingKids, I just knew we had to try out their Kids’ Travel Guide – Spain, activity book.
We have loved the various challenges throughout the Kid’s Travel Guide – Spain. My son has been learning to use a compass with Beavers, so he really enjoyed putting his skills to the test. The book is full of information and quizzes (the answers are shown on each page to check against).
We learnt about the Euro and all about the coat of arms which features on the Spanish flag. This book has proved that you are never too old to learn something new! We’ve read about the history of Spain as well as brushing up on our language skills.- Over 40 and a Mum to One, March, 22 2017
BSM: You’re a mom who loved to travel before becoming a mom. Now, you specialize in sharing family travel secrets, tips and destinations with other families. You’ve also created a successful guide-book series just for kids. Please tell us more about your inspiration and how the books and website have evolved.
SH: I travelled for many years, both for pleasure and business. When my kids were babies, it was just a technical challenge: what to take with me, what’s the best way to fly with babies and so on. When they got older, I found myself struggling with bored kids. It didn’t matter where I took them, after a short while they just wanted to go back home or watch TV.- Brave Ski Mom, March 13, 2017
Writing for children is not an easy task, and when it comes to travel, the challenges are even bigger. Inspired by her own family travels, Shira Halperin, the owner of the FlyingKids edition house embarked on an amazing and difficult journey: convincing children that travel is more fun than wasting the time in the front of the computer. Shortly after publishing the latest guide, a very smart guide to Germany, Shira answered a couple of questions about her business and publishing project.- Foreigner In Berlin, April 5, 2017
